No Kindle’s in Heaven

My kindle crashed for a moment. It reboots and shows me this peculiar logo. Then I’m undone….

No Kindle’s in Heaven

by Jamie Villamor

To sit by the shade of the tree of knowledge
To nestle on the top of the hill,
To set thy droopy eyes on the text from thy kindle.

I would very much desire where this boy is
and what he is doing, except for one thing…
I would put the kindle down,

because underneath the tree of knowledge,
and on top of that very hill,
I would simply no longer need it.

This is my great ‘finally,’ –
When finally,
I no longer have to read what I long to know.

In all my years of earthly toil,
finally,
what I long to know, I can now see,
unhindered and unfettered.

I can now see Beauty
That no longer needs to hide in text.

I can gaze at Him.
Shamelessly.

Jesus, You are lovely.
No kindle’s in heaven.
Finally.
